The dvd starts off similar to the palm heel DVD explaining about the stronger positions and how to avoid pain,
I then go into detail Explaining what the drum technique from karate kid 2 represent in body mechancs and the kinetic chain, this is all I could find on the drum but it gives you the idea
and how you can use the same principles to build power and torque in your hooks and how the dropping and lifting of your heels can increase close range power as well,I then go through some tips for close up striking and extreme close range hands on target hooks.following that is all about the breath and intent how to use them both hand in hand to significanlty increase your explosive power.
A little footwork next, how to get all of your bodyweight into the strike,by steping through with the hook. Then onto Shockwaves and the best suited for different angles to significantly improve the explosiveness of your hooks.a short talk about positons and training pad on the hand and I finish of explain the the two strongest figure of eight loops to throw repeated strikes.heres a clip of some of out training and testing of our palm hooks and palm heels using all the principles from the DVD
"What can I say about your Dvd? Very impressed. Yet another highly instructive Dvd in your ongoing series and a very important one for anyone studying the martial arts or self-defense. It literally covers everything that anyone could need from Novice to Advanced practitioner. Great detail has been provided in systematically teaching the correct structure of the palm hook for maximum power delivery and how to ensure that your striking structure is correct so that the wrist is protected and injuries avoided. Nothing worse than striking an attacker and it ends up hurting you more than it hurts him! LOL.
There were certain parts of your DVD that really caught my attention like the Den Dan Daiko, this drill in itself, in my opinion was worth the price of your DVD. It teaches so much, from the ability to strike within a closed quarter environment, how to transfer/shift bodyweight correctly, continuous striking, how to relax the body for the most impact and more. There are keys within this drill that would help anyone that trains to increase the power of their strikes and improve the flow/speed of their movements. I literally can’t emphasize enough how important I believe this drill to be and you have broken it down in your usual clear, concise way that leaves no ambiguity or unanswered questions.
It’s a great learning experience to first watch you demonstrate a strike and how it should be done and then taking complete beginner and watching them learn, improve, and point out what mistakes they are making (we could be making) so that they are doing it correctly. The mistakes made by the beginners are the mistakes we probably would all make while training so to watch these corrections and how to fix mistakes that are being made are of great benefit to anyone training on their own.
There’s such a wealth of information on your Dvd from the different striking energies to the practice drills, body structure, intention training etc. that it’s hard to list everything for praise. I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone that’s interested in improving their striking skills to purchase your Dvd and can only say it will be a purchase they will never regret. Anyone purchasing your Dvd will not only gain the skills on the Dvd, they will learn keys to help them understand and improve whatever system they might currently be training in.
Am really looking forward to the next in your series."
